Job description
SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for acquiring a technical understanding of all Cytek Cytometer Systems. The Mechanical Engineer is required to develop the skills necessary to calibrate and optically align Cytek Cytometer Systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Required to assist Final Test with troubleshooting technical issues that occur during the System Final Test process, identify root cause, and assist with correcting the issue in support of successful completion of Final System Test
Troubleshooting will include electronic, mechanical and fluidic sub-system assessment
Responsible for Engineering projects focused on improving the stability and performance of current Cytek Cytometer systems
Assess design needs, create proposed specifications, identify sources for materials, obtain and evaluate engineering samples, and transfer changes to Production
Responsible for evaluation of returned electronic, mechanical, and fluidic sub-systems/units, collecting data, and analyzing patterns to drive quality improvements into Cytek Cytometer systems and their Approved Suppliers
Review relevant field data to identify any problem areas, research opportunities for improvement, model and characterize any identified options, and propose changes to the design
Serves as a liaison between Operations, Design Engineering, and Field Engineering to influence the Reliability, Manufacturability and Serviceability of the product design.
Reviews and provide input on Final Test Procedures and evaluate Final Test Results
Documents any Non-Conforming Material for processing through Cytek’s Supplier Quality process
Provide input on Bills Of Materials for accuracy and completeness

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Required
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering Preferred
At least 2 years of experience in a Electrical-Mechanical NPI Engineer role
Medical Device experience required
Experience working with multi-sub-system equipment including electronic, optical, fluidic, and application software sub-systems is a plus
Experience using the Windows OS, MSOffice Applications, Engineering Change Order Systems, Device History Records, and creation of Final Test Procedures, Reports, and Bills Of Materials
Ability to competently use hand tools, an oscilloscope, multi-meter, and microscope
Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
Any other tools as necessary for system level test of equipment
