Patient Account Coordinator

Job description

Seeking Patient Account Coordinators with 3 years of Physician Billing, Claims Denials and Follow-up experience for long term contract position in Irving, TX.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Physician A/R exp required.
  • Minimum two years physician billing, insurance follow-up (appeal submissions), or healthcare business office experience
  • Proficiency in basic medical terminology.
  • Prior experience with Athena, Epic billing software preferred
  • Read and interpret EOB’s (Explanation of Benefits)
  • Determine root cause of denial and ability to submit appeal for reimbursement
  • Understanding of diversified insurance plans.
  • Understanding of Managed Care contracts, denials and payor methodology
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • This position is also responsible for analyzing and resolving billing errors/edits, denials and initiating appeal disputes
